Annotate your docs for faster-than-email feedback

Dropbox annotationsIt’s a feedback method that’s as old as time — pointing to something and talking about it. But what happens when you’re not sitting next to the person you’re working with? What happens if you’re not in the same time zone?

Our latest update to commenting helps bridge that distance. Today we’re introducing annotations, which lets you add comments right on the spot you’re referencing.

Available now to Dropbox Business teams through our early access program, annotations make it easy to provide clear, focused feedback. Just point and click anywhere inside the file preview on dropbox.com, or drag a rectangle over the area you want to reference.

And when you click on an annotation from the comments sidebar, the preview jumps to the right spot in the doc so you can see the comment in context. This works even if a comment was added on an older version of the file — you can preview that version to see where the comment was originally left, so you don’t have to worry about losing track of your comment history when you incorporate feedback.

Annotations are available on almost all file types that have previews on dropbox.com, from PDFs and photos to Word docs and Photoshop files. So whether you’re working on a logo design or a quarterly report, you can point out exactly what you’re talking about — and you don’t have to bother sending multiple rounds of revisions back and forth over email.
