Building a supportive community for LGBT employees

Today we’re proud to announce that we’ve been ranked on two lists recognizing corporate LGBT-friendliness. We’ve always sought to make Dropbox a place where all employees feel included, and those who identify as LGBT are an important part of that. Over the past few years, we’ve ramped up our involvement in the broader LGBT community by marching in San Francisco, Austin, and Dublin Pride parades and coming out in support of the Obergefell v. Hodges amicus brief.

The first, Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI), awarded Dropbox a perfect score in our list debut. This benchmark, created by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, is one of the best measures of corporate LGBT-friendliness. The second award, the Global Diversity List’s Top 10 LGBT Employee Networks, specifically recognized Pridebox, Dropbox’s Employee Resource Group. Through Pridebox, we’ve hosted speakers Kate Kendell and other LGBT luminaries, built a small network of peer companies, and included our 12 global offices in our initiatives.

Both of these awards speak to our deep commitment to creating an equitable workplace that includes and supports employees of every background and every identity. Benefit parity, training to fight unconscious bias, and meaningful philanthropic contributions are just a few of the things we do to embrace our diverse community.

We appreciate the recognition for both of these awards. While great strides have been made this year at Dropbox and across the globe, we know this is just the beginning!
